According to §§ 8 to 10 TMG* we are not obliged to control transferred or saved external information. When we become aware of violations, we will immediately remove these contents. We accept any liability only from the date of knowledge of a possible infringement.

Liability for Links

Our site contains links to external Web sites of third parties, on whose contents we have no influence. The respective provider or operator is responsible for the contents of the linked pages. The content of linked websites of third-parties is the responsibility of the respective owners.
At the time of linking the third-party sites were checked for any likely contravention of the law without complaint. When we become aware of violations, we will remove such links immediately.

Privacy Policy

We point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. e-mail communication) can have security hole. A seamless protection of data against access by third parties is not possible. A confidentiality relating to the privacy policy ensures only subjects to the given restriction. In particular all communications of personal data via the Internet only occur where no rights of third parties are touched. Unless the third party, fully aware of the above vulnerabilities, agreed. Liability of the site operator is excluded for the damages by these vulnerabilities or cease and desist claims.

Privacy

No personal data is stored while using the Green Power Indicator. In addition to the connection data only the called domain (with top level domain) is sent to our server. It is an anonymous logging of user behaviour for statistical purposes and only stores which provider registered in our database were used, how often and when.

Local Caching

The Green Power Indicator uses caching to speed up the display of information about the current power quality. If the Green Power Indicator detects a website you previously visited the information are read from the local cache so that the database does not have to be accessed. Disabling the cache function prevents the storing of data on your computer.

Blacklist

The Green Power Indicator does not query pages included in the blacklist on their current status. No information from these sites is sent to our database. The blacklist icon is shown. (Note: The function "Blacklist" is no longer available from version 1.10 upwards).

HTTPS Pages

HTTPS stands for a Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol that delivers data on the Internet in a tap-proof way. The Green Power Indicator does not retrieve the power status of such sites, if you do not want it to do so. The HTTPS icon is shown.

Private Browsing

While using the so-called "Private Browsing" of Firefox (from version 3.5) no information about your Web site visits will be stored on your computer. This applies to both, the browser and the Add-On Green Power Indicator.

The user can adapt these settings. Following options are available:

  • Activate / deactivate Caching, delete the cache
  • Add domains to the blacklist, remove them from the blacklist; Use the black lists or not
  • Block / query HTTPS pages
  • Activate / deactivate the “Private Browsing Mode” in Firefox

Updates by Mozilla

Mozilla informs the user that Add-ons installed in the Firefox Browser check for updates once per day, and the total number of these update pings is known as Active Daily Users. Active Daily Users (ADU) can be broken down by add-on version, operating system, add-on status, and application. No personal data is stored.

Deactivating

By deactivating the Green Power Indicator, the data traffic to our database is stopped.

Uninstall

Uninstalling the Green Power Indicator all data from the database are deleted, even if locally still files are left behind. If desired the file piDatabase.sqlite can be deleted by the user after uninstalling the Add-On without problems.
